OGURA sets up the below environment policy and undertakes corporate activities with respect to environment.

Environment Policy
- OGURA Jewel Industry CO., LTD. Is properly conscious of any impact to environment by our corporate activities of production and sales of various products by use of jewels.
- Make efforts to protect environmental pollution.
- Follow environmental regulations and requirements from society in corporate activities.
- By reviewing “Environment target and objectives” we make efforts of constant improvement of environment management system.
- Put the environment policy in writing, post it in the company’s bulletin board and bring it to practice, and last but not least maintain it.
- Make every employee know well of this environment policy and call for cooperation by publishing it.

- We are promoting the lead-free glass which is used for diamond/CBN grinding wheels.

- We are promoting the response to hazardous substances, such as establishing a system for compliance with REACH regulation and RoHS directive, and conducting chemical substance risk assessments.
- We are promoting the renewal of cleaning methods and reducing / replacing the use of organic solvents.
- Participating in the "TOKYO Work Style Reform Declaration", we are promoting the reduction of overtime hours and the increase in the PTO acquisition rate.

- We prepare and provide an environment where workers aged 65 and over can work.

- Water jet processing has extremely little heat effect and does not use chemicals that affect the environment. We are producing nozzles for that.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION

- Our main products, made of highly brittle materials such as diamonds and sapphires, are resistant to corrosion and wear, and have a long life as a main component of equipment.
- Eco-friendly corrugated cardboard product cases are used for diamond / CBN grinding wheels, and the core metal is reused for some products.
- Tungsten Carbide and high-speed steel tools used for processing are recycled.

- We thoroughly separate PET bottles and caps for drinking in-house, which leads to recycling.
- We purchase environmentally friendly 3R products to reduce waste.
- We are promoting efforts to thoroughly separate waste and convert it into valuable resources.

- We have been supplying rain gauge parts for many years.
