Measurement stylus to support reliability of contact type of measurement instrument

OGURA is producing measurement styli for various contact types of measurement instruments by applying processing technology of tip end of single crystal diamond based on long term experience and knowledge of production of record styli.

Contact types of measurement instruments obtain measured data by contacting tip of styli to work pieces to be measured.

Accordingly, the tip-end of the styli uses high hardness materials like a single crystal diamond from viewpoints of high precision measurement and security of stable measured value and is processed with high accuracy of shapes.

As demand for measuring precision metal moldings and parts with high precision is on increase, needs of profile measurement device with higher precision increase.

  • With Small undercut of cone shaped tip end and as the outline is close to an ideal shape, measurement result with high reliability is secured.

This is a probe with ruby mounted to a tip end and used to various contact types of measurement instruments.

As to a ruby ball more than φ0.5mm, by perforating a blind hall into the ball and inserting a shaft there with glue connection is possible by OGURA. Accordingly, even a ball less than φ3mm with little connecting area can be fixed firm, so that ball’s fall off is restrained while measuring.
